What kind of things do people put above other things? People love family or friends more than other people. They love money that they have earned themselves more than money given to them. They love their homes they have decorated themselves much more any other house they see.
Say, [O Muhammad], “If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your relatives, wealth which you have obtained, commerce wherein you fear decline, and dwellings with which you are pleased are more beloved to you than Allāh and His Messenger and jihād in His cause, then wait until Allāh executes His command. And Allāh does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.” [Surah Taubah: 24]
Now when I read this ayah, I wonder why anyone would put any of these worldly, temporary things above Allah? But when I think back to how I used to be, I remember how everything was before Allah. It’s amazing how the understanding of the Qur’an changed all my perspectives of life. Now the worldly things such as cars, houses, fashion, everything seem so worthless. I think that Allah is far more important than these little things. Everything else including friends and family in this world come and go. One day you have a person, tomorrow they’re gone. The only one that remains with you at all times is Allah (SWT). The only one you can trust, you can turn to, you can count on always being there for you is Allah alone.
Now the question is not if I love Allah, but how much? To prove my love I need to put Him above all. Just like when you love someone you put them above everything else. You prove your love by giving up everything for them. You’re ready to do anything and everything for that loved one. Just like that, I need to prove my love for Allah by giving up in His way. How much do I give up in the way of Allah? How sincere are my sacrafices?
…are you ready to sacrifice for the sake of Allah?…
I really liked the mention of how we always seem to place other things before Allah(swt), I find that to be very true! We become so indulged into the smallest of worldy matters that we often get driven away from our true purpose in life. And also secondly, i really liked when you mentioned about love for Allah(swt), as it works for people, we need to show how much we love them and place them high above. Allah(swt) should be who we love THE most for the endless reasons, but inorder to do that we need to prove that we love Him by following and obeying His commands, not just saying we love Allah(swt) with a bumper sticker we put on the back of our car! We really need to make the effort in showing Allah(swt) how much we truly love Him!

your right Allah should be above everything not these temporary things. If we love allah we wont be scared to scarifice anything in his way.
