friend or enemy?

Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous.  [To whom Allah will say], “O My servants, no fear will there be concerning you this Day, nor will you grieve, [You] who believed in Our verses and were Muslims. [Surah Az-Zukhruf Ayah 67-69]

Pretty scary huh?  We say we’ll be there for each other forever.  What a great lie.  We know we won’t be there for each other forever.  Yet we still say it.  We give each other hopes, that no matter what happens, we got each other’s back.

Then what about on the Day of Judgment?  Who will help you then?  Sure in dunya, in the world we can help each other as much as we can, but what about on that day?  What will you say on behalf of me?  You’ll back stab me if you weren’t a good friend.  You’ll tell Allah (SWT) that I helped you in doing wrong.  You won’t tell Allah (SWT) how I was so true, and I always helped you lie and always helped you sneak out so you could smoke it up or see your boyfriend.  That’s what you’re going to tell Allah (SWT) right?  You don’t have to, everything that witnessed all this, every phone, every hand, and every person that witnessed all this will.  Then how will you help me?  You will only become my enemy.  All because we did wrong in this dunya, so wrong will be done to us on that day.

But if we were true friends, if we really loved each other, we would only help each other in the right.  I wouldn’t let you do anything stupid.  I wouldn’t allow you to lie to your parents or curse out your friends.  I would tell you the truth as it is, reality as it should be.  Then on the Day of Judgment you can tell Allah (SWT) how much I helped you.  How I stopped you.  If you didn’t listen, that’s not my fault now is it.  I did my part.

Now I need to realize, who my true friends are.  Who show me what’s right, and who pressurize me to do more wrong.  My true friends will help me; my fake friends, my enemies will ruin me.
